How to come to Malgrat de Mar

You can easily come to Malgrat de Mar by your own vehicle. It is well connected inland by the highway NII and with the coastline through B-682. However, if you choose to come by air, the closest airport is in Barcelona. Furthermore, from the airport you can take a taxi or rent a car. However, the train system RENFE serves this area as well.

Tourist Attractions

Malgrat de Mar is a very interesting tourist destination for a vacation. It has few kilometers long beach with a beautiful seaside promenade, where you find many shops, bars and restaurants. Promenade will take you to Santa Susanna. 

You also have a wide range of water sport activities. 

Malgrat de Mar is a great place for a family vacation since the beaches here are not rough. Furthermore, you can rent chairs and umbrellas for just a few Euros for all day. 

You can also go to the nearby Marineland with Dolphinarium, Marine ZOO which presents aquatic life and Water Park.

Malgrat de Mar is divided into new and old town. New part of the town offers beautiful beaches and many shops, bars, clubs and restaurants. The old town is a typical Spanish town, where local residents live around the year. Here you can find ethnic Spanish restaurants with their traditional food and drink. You can find their authentic local market here as well. 

Furthermore, Malgrat de Mar has many interesting buildings. Among the most interesting buildings are the church of Saint Nicolau Esglesia or Església de Sant Nicolau, Peixateries Velles, L'Ajuntament, La Cooperativa, Antic Hospital and El Castell (old castle).

There are many interesting buildings from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries such as Ca l'Arnau, Torre de la Vídua de Can Sala, Can Campassol , La Pilona, Torre de l'Esquena, Escoles Montserrat.
